Child Care Food ProgramNutrition

According to the Families and Work Institute, participation in the Child Care Food Program is one of the major factors influencing quality care. In their report, 87% of the family child care homes considered to be providing good quality care participated in this program. Through the Episcopal Children's Services' Child Care Food Program, children receive two nutritionally balanced meals and one snack per day, which helps ensure their physical development.

Additionally, a staff of food program specialists train providers in how to enroll in the program and how to design balanced menus for children. Food program staff visit providers to ensure that food preparation and delivery meet the required standards and safety measures.

The Child Care Food Program offers monthly reimbursements to providers participating in the program.

To request information on this program, please contact the Nutrition Department at (904) 726-1500 ext. 250, or email them at mlaberinto@ecs4kids.org.
