Najmah Shabazz
Najmah Shabazz was born and raised in Jacksonville. She has been an educator with the Duval County School System for thirty-seven years. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Edward Waters College, and a Master of Education Degree from the University of Illinois. She is on the managing committee of the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida Board and is one of the founding members of Al-Furquan Academy. She is a member of The Support Group for Fostering Excellence in Muslim Women and has served on the Interfaith Council of Jacksonville, Florida. She is also a member of the Jacksonville Historical Society. Najmah is President of Novellus EZ-Link Kiosks Machine Distributors. She and her husband Frank enjoy family activities with their children and grandchildren. Najmah's interests are working with children, reading, collecting information on the rites of passage for boys and girls, gardening and mentoring.
