Fr. Wiley Ammons

Wiley Ammons is an Episcopal Priest who serves as rector of The Church of the Redeemer on Jacksonville’s southside and Canon for the First Coast East Region of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida. Canon Ammons is a Jacksonville native and prior to Redeemer, served 4 years as Canon for Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Florida and 2 years as an assisting priest at Good Shepherd where a church and ECS school are co-located.

Fr. Ammons has earned degrees in engineering from the University of Florida and Divinity from The Virginia Theological Seminary. He has been a youth leader, summer camp director, youth volunteer, and is an ECS Good Shepherd parent. He has served on boards for The Children’s Enrichment Workshop (a church-school community partnership program for after-school enrichment) where he pioneered a technology program, and for Jacksonville Campus Ministries (an ecumenical partnership for the spiritual care of all Jacksonville’s college campuses) where he served as a chaplain for the University of North Florida.
