Joy Farris

Joy Farris was born in Chicago, IL and has lived in the Jacksonville area since 2014.  She has a degree in biology and psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University, she did post-graduate studies in statistics at Colorado State University, her law degree is from Hofstra University, and she has a masters in biology from New York University.

After undergraduate, Joy serviced as a volunteer for AmeriCorps*VISTA creating juvenile justice programs for the State of Alaska.  She continued to serve as a recruiter and media coordinator for the AmeriCorps*VISTA program.  Her service project led her to attend law school.  After law school, she worked in the New York State Attorney Generals’ office in the antitrust bureau and as an intellectual property lawyer for Fish & Richardson P.C.  She has been representing Florida Blue as an intellectual property and IT/data governance attorney since 2014.

Her community involvement includes serving on several boards, most recently serving as the chair for the Early Learning Coalition of Northeast Florida.  Other honors include being a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville – Class of 2021.  Joy’s passion is solving problems and connecting people.
