Susan F. Wildes is Community Leadership and Education senior manager for Florida Blue Foundation, the philanthropic affiliate of Florida Blue. In this role, Wildes works to strengthen the Foundation’s role as a convener of and catalyst for community organizations, supporting partnership networks by helping them work collaboratively, and implementing learning strategies and programs in the areas of health, health care, philanthropy, drivers of health, social determinants of health and other issues that arise in our communities. Most recently, as senior program manager, she developed, managed and evaluated a portfolio of assigned grants; developed and implemented best practices in grant making, analysis and measurement of outcomes; developed and enhanced relationships internally and externally with networks of foundations, associations, corporations, nonprofits and issue experts to advance the work in health and other related needs in the community.
Wildes joined Florida Blue in 1993. During her career, she has provided public relations and community affairs support to a regional council of governments, a public library and two community colleges.
She has served in a variety of volunteer and leadership roles with numerous nonprofits, including Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, NCCJ (now known as OneJax), Vision Is Priceless Council, University of Georgia National Alumni Board, Jacksonville Bulldog Club, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Jacksonville Symphony Guild, The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, Jacksonville Golf and Country Club Women’s Network, among others.
A native of Chickamauga, Georgia, Wildes holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia.
