Founded in 1966, Episcopal Children's Services has become the largest not-for-profit child services
organization (for children birth to five) in Northeast Florida. Starting out as one small child care center, we now provide high quality services to more than 16,500 young children in Duval, Clay, Nassau, Baker, Bradford, Union, Putnam and St. Johns counties.
We honor our heritage as an outreach mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida, but are a free standing organization that is not supported by, or operated by, the Diocese. Further, our children come from all denominations, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
ECS provides better beginnings for children who might otherwise miss the opportunity for early childhood development, school readiness, and future life success. As such, our services focus on the fundamental elements of lifelong learning: curiosity, initiative, persistence, reasoning, and problem solving.
