This year at ECS, we’re saying “see you later” to one of our dearest employees. Crystal Cotton has been an integral part of our family for 40 years and is now preparing to retire, so we would like to share a few words from her about her time spent with us.

“When I first came to ECS in 1986, it was much smaller. It was a place serving the needs of income eligible families. The headquarters was in a three-story house on the corner of Laura & 10th street in Springfield serving about 180 to 200 children daily, soon expanding to an afterschool program with transportation to and from school, helping them with after school homework. During this time, they added other centers including centers in all the FSCJ college campuses. Soon they received the Headstart Grant in the surrounding counties.“

“Where I worked in Baker for 7 years and now, they have grown so big reaching more children and families all over Florida and now Georgia, but they have always stayed focus on the mission to have professional, qualified teachers and staff loving and caring for the families and their children that we serve. I am truly grateful for ECS allowing me to have the opportunity to help change and be a part of so many children and their families lives over the last 39 years it has been quite the journey, and I will be forever thankful to my mentors, Marbanean Jennings & Jamillah Abdullah for their encouragement and support ECS. Keep reaching for the STARS and loving those families & children. Love Yah, Mrs. Crystal Cotton.”
We wish Mrs. Cotton well and congratulations on her retirement, and we sincerely thank her for all her hard work she has done with us here at ECS.
