Can you imagine the joy you would have felt as a toddler who was allowed to explore the inside of a real ambulance? That’s exactly what happened to our little learners when they were visited by two familiar faces from the Century Ambulance team!

And because we believe in pairing stories with hands-on experiences for a multisensory approach, the Century Ambulance team also read Honk Honk Woo Woo and Maisy’s Ambulance, allowing our little learners to have an integrated learning experience to deepen their understanding of emergency medical services.

These Century Team members were a father/daughter pair who happen to have grandchildren/children who are enrolled in our program! When Leah was asked how it felt to engage with our kiddos outside of a parent role, she had this to say:
“It’s truly an honor and privilege to work with the children and parents on EMS safety and to see to and hear all the laughs and smiles. My father and I wanted to better inform all the children, faculty and staff of the importance of emergency medical services and how crucial first aid and CPR are. We look forward to hopefully coming back. Thank you again to everyone!”

Tierainie Johnson, a Family Advocate, shared that “an involved parent doesn’t just send their child to school — they walk in partnership with the process, reinforcing at home what’s being built in the classroom and reminding their child every day that their education matters.”
Each student went home with a goody bag of snacks and a toy ambulance.

We thank Century Ambulance Services for visiting us and our kiddos, and a huge thank you to all of our first responders!
