“ECS4Kids provided my family with peace of mind at a time when we had no community. The program became our support system—people we could trust and depend on academically and emotionally. To the ECS staff, you are a blessing, and I’m grateful for everything you do to help families grow stronger.”
ECS4Kids Mom, Megan
Megan, a single mother of three daughters enrolled her two youngest in the ECS4Kids program at Eden Park for the 2025–2026 school year while experiencing homelessness and significant instability. Without permanent housing or reliable transportation, she faced daily uncertainty as she worked to meet her family’s basic needs. Despite these challenges, she remained dedicated to improving her daughters’ future and actively utilized the support and resources available through the program.
With staff guidance and community referrals, Megan began working toward stable housing and transportation. Her persistence led to securing safe, permanent housing for her family and later obtaining reliable transportation, enabling consistent school attendance, employment, and access to essential appointments. Today, her family is thriving in a secure and supportive environment. Her children are able to focus on learning, building friendships, and growing with confidence, while their mother continues to strengthen her independence and long term goals. Her story demonstrates resilience, determination, and the positive impact of comprehensive early childhood support.

Shortly after enrolling in the program, Megan began working as a driving instructor. Despite limited transportation at the time, she advanced to the role of Regional Driving Instructor. She is also a Manager at restaurant chain and is currently training to become a General Manager—further reflecting her commitment to creating a stable future for her family.
“To Ms. Shimika, your guidance and support meant more than you know. My children feel safe, supported, and loved because of you, and that means the world to me.”
