“Training these students allows us to invest directly in the future of our workforce.” – Telisa Pitts, ECS4Kids’ Director of Educational Operations.

Through R.I.S.E., Reaching & Inspiring Students in Early-Education, ECS4Kids’ Education and Operational teams gave a select group of juniors and seniors at both Ridgeview High School and Frank H. Peterson High School a hands-on training: “Conscious Discipline: Power Skills and Structures.” Students worked in teams, and each group concentrated on mastering one designated Conscious Discipline power.

This program was designed for ECS4Kids educators to equip emerging classroom leaders with the skills necessary to model healthy self‑regulation and to teach young learners how to develop those same abilities. The goal of this partnership is to support the students’ journeys on getting their CDA’s by the end of the school year and it seem like everyone is on track!
Additionally, instructors conducted mock interviews to prepare students for the real thing.

After the interviews, feedback is given to each student on their communication, responses and presentation. Our staff took it a step further by identifying opportunities within our company and walked students through the application and hiring process.
Telisa, who created this program, states that “As they earn their CDA and gain exposure to our practices, they enter the field more confident, better prepared, and ready to support the work we do at Episcopal Children’s Services.”
